Our Location

View from bedroom window
Lochinver, a working harbour town, nestles in a deep sea loch at the foot of two spectacular yet accessible peaks, Suilven, 'the Sugar Loaf' and Canisp, each a fulfilling day's walk from the Albannach and visible from our conservatory, terrace and garden (where we now have a midge-eating machine!)

Local Area

A coastal path through a desolate moonscape begins behind the hotel and emerges 3.5 miles later on the perfect, white crescent of Achmelvich Beach. Colin and Lesley will happily share their local knowledge of both scenic meandering and mountains to take your breath away. Boat trips to islands are also locally available.
Regarded by many as 'Europe's last wilderness', this empty corner of the North-West Highlands soothes the urban soul.
