Winter sights

Photography:

On a clear day the winter light is a photographers dream. The “big hills” may have a dusting of snow and the hundreds of small lochans become frozen mirrors reflecting the sky. Find a quiet spot to enjoy some night time photography of dark skies filled with stars and possibly even a display of the Aurora.

Walking:

Even in winter many low level walks are still enjoyable, as long as you layer up and wear waterproofs. Two local walks can be taken from the doors of The Albannach, with no need to get in the car. The first takes you through the wilderness to a beautiful white sand beach and the other a circuit along the river Inver.

Hill walking is not recommended during the winter months, due to the limited hours of daylight and risk of severe weather. Although an experienced guide can be hired for expeditions into the hills!
